Best Electric Kettles — Top 10

An electric kettle's real spec is not how fast it boils — almost everything here boils. It is how honestly it controls what happens before the boil: the temperature delicate tea and pour-over coffee actually need, held long enough to use, poured without splashing, from a body whose handle, lid and warranty will survive daily use. Those tests split the field three ways: full-size preset kettles for households, to-the-degree dial kettles that do presets' job properly, and small gooseneck specialists whose 0.9-1.0 L size is a deliberate trade for pour control.

We screened about twenty current US models and ranked ten on verified temperature control and pour performance first, then capacity honesty, owner satisfaction at scale, value, and company accountability: warranty length, published support contacts and recall history. One model with strong reviews is screened out entirely for a 2026 federal recall. Every price below was checked live this session at the maker's own store or a named major US retailer, on the single basis stated in the dossier, and every claim in the copy — capacity, wattage, hold time, warranty — is tied to a maker, manual or retailer source checked alongside it.

ZWILLING Enfinigy Electric Kettle Pro (1.5L)
RECALLED — never rankable. CPSC recall dated May 14, 2026 (about 113,440 US units, models 53101-500 to -504): the handle can loosen and separate, spilling hot water, with 163 reports and a reported second-degree burn. Remedy is a refund; owners are told to stop using it. Priced from US price-history data in the CPSC's $120-$200 sold range.
Zwilling$15074
Breville IQ Kettle (BKE820XL)
Dominated: the older IQ design offers similar preset control to the Smart Kettle Luxe, which beats it on lid, finishes and current support, for $40 more. Abt lists the BKE820XL at $179.95 alongside the Luxe at $219.95.
Breville$18073
Cosori Original Electric Gooseneck Kettle (CO108-NK)
Good budget gooseneck, but presets only (five, no 1-degree control) in a 0.8 L body — the Bonavita and OXO goosenecks ranked above it do strictly more for $30-$50 more. List $69.99, shown at $62.99 on cosori.com in October 2026 roundups.
Cosori$7072
KitchenAid Pro Line Series Electric Kettle (1.5L, KEK1522)
Dual-wall, variable-temperature and beautifully built, but $249.99 at kitchenaid.com is the highest ranked-class price screened for a lever-and-gauge interface with no presets or hold precision to match it. Fails the value test.
KitchenAid$25071
Cosori Electric Kettle, No Plastic Contact (1.7L, CO171-GK2 class)
The honest $27.99 boil-only glass kettle with a deep owner record (about 4.5/5 across roughly 50,000 ratings) — but with no temperature control or keep-warm, the $53.99 CO117-DK from the same maker takes the budget slot.
Cosori$2870
Beautiful by Drew Barrymore Programmable Temperature Kettle (1.7L)
Walmart's house brand offers four presets and 60-minute keep-warm for about $48 per CNET-derived roundups, but the long-term owner and parts record is thin next to the Cosori and Hamilton Beach budget picks. Price is a roundup figure — see Flags.
Beautiful$4869
Smeg Variable Temperature Kettle (KLF04)
Seven presets and iconic retro design at $259.95 (Williams Sonoma) — the most expensive full-size kettle screened, priced for looks. The Breville Luxe does the premium job for $40 less with a better-documented US record.
Smeg$26068
Breville One-Touch Tea Maker (BTM800XL)
Out of scope as a kettle: an automated tea-brewing machine with a motorized basket, at $329.95 (Abt). Excellent at what it is; it is not a kettle purchase and fails this category's value test.
Breville$33067
Aarke Electric Kettle (1.2L)
Design-led Swedish kettle at about $250 with a 1.2 L capacity — under the ranking's size basis, over every ranked price except the Luxe, and with a thin US owner and support record in this session's sources. Solid contender in test roundups, not a top-10 value.
Aarke$25066
Cuisinart Soho 1-Liter Double-Wall Kettle (CK-10)
A good, cool-touch 1 L boil-only kettle at about $50 in test roundups, but boil-only and small — the Fellow Clyde takes the design-boiler slot and full-size budget kettles take the value slots. Price is the roundups' $50 listing figure — see Flags.
Cuisinart$5065

OXO Brew Adjustable Temperature Kettle (1.75L)

AmRank Score 92 $120

Best for: Most households that brew both tea and coffee: buyers who want true to-the-degree control in a full-size 1.75 L kettle, without paying gooseneck or luxury prices.

1.75 L borosilicate glass104-212°F · 1-degree dial30-min temperature hold1500 W2-year warranty

Product review

The OXO Brew Adjustable Temperature Kettle is the rare full-size kettle with gooseneck-grade control: a single dial sets any temperature from 104°F to 212°F in one-degree increments, the backlit display shows the water temperature in real time, and the kettle holds the target for 30 minutes. Independent test roundups named it best overall among standard-spout kettles, praising exactly that combination. The 1.75 L borosilicate glass body, soft-open lid and removable steel filter make it an easy daily kettle, not a specialty tool.

The company

OXO (OXO International, a Helen of Troy brand) backs OXO Brew appliances sold new in the US and Canada with a two-year warranty against manufacturing defects, per the model's instruction manual. US customer service is published in OXO manuals and on oxo.com at 1-800-545-4411; OXO does not publish a support email for this line, so that field is blank.

Pros
  • Only standard-spout kettle in its class with true 1-degree control, 104-212°F
  • Real-time temperature display with the temperature guide printed on the base
  • Full 1.75 L glass body with soft-open lid and removable stainless filter
Cons
  • No preset buttons — every temperature is dialed in by hand, which is slower than one-touch presets
  • Glass body shows limescale plainly and needs regular descaling to look clean
  • Slower to a full boil than the fastest rivals in independent testing — about 7.5 minutes for a full kettle in one test roundup

Cuisinart PerfecTemp Cordless Electric Kettle (CPK-17)

AmRank Score 90 $130

Best for: Tea households that want named presets instead of dialing degrees: six one-touch temperatures, a 30-minute keep-warm and a long owner record at a mid price.

1.7 L stainless steel6 preset temperatures30-min keep warm1500 W3-year warranty

Product review

The PerfecTemp CPK-17 is the proven preset kettle: six one-touch temperatures from delicate tea to French press and boil, 1500 watts, a 30-minute keep-warm, and a memory feature that lets you lift the kettle off its base for up to two minutes without losing the cycle. It has sold in this form for years, carries a deep owner record — about 4.7/5 across roughly 4,600 Target ratings in this session's check — and a three-year warranty. It ranks second because presets, however well chosen, are less flexible than the OXO's true degree-by-degree dial.

The company

Cuisinart (Conair) publishes US consumer support at 1-800-726-0190 on its product pages and retailer listings, and backs the PerfecTemp CPK-17 with a three-year limited warranty — the longest among the full-size preset kettles ranked here. No support email verified from Cuisinart's own US product materials this session, so that field is blank.

Pros
  • Six well-chosen presets cover delicate tea through French press and boil
  • Three-year limited warranty beats the one- and two-year norms here
  • Two-minute memory lets you pour mid-cycle without restarting
Cons
  • Presets only — no to-the-degree adjustment between the six fixed temperatures
  • Stainless body gets hot to the touch and the window is the only water-level view
  • Owner reports include units that kept boiling past the set point, so the keep-warm behavior needs watching

Breville Smart Kettle Luxe (BKE845)

AmRank Score 89 $220

Best for: Buyers who want the most polished full-size preset kettle — soft-open lid, premium finishes and tactile one-touch varietal buttons — and will pay a luxury price for it.

1.7 L stainless steel5 varietal presets20-min keep warmSoft Opening lid1-year warranty

Product review

The Smart Kettle Luxe (BKE845) is Breville's premium take on the 1.7 L preset kettle: five varietal buttons — green/white at 175°F, oolong at 195°F, French press at 200°F, black at 205°F and boil at 212°F — a Soft Opening lid that releases steam slowly, and a keep-warm that holds the chosen temperature for 20 minutes. Test roundups praise its button feel and splash-free lid. It ranks third, not first, because the polish costs $100 more than the Cuisinart that does the same preset job, with a shorter warranty.

The company

Breville USA publishes customer service at 1-866-273-8455 (1-866-BREVILLE) and [email protected] in its US manuals. The Smart Kettle Luxe carries a one-year limited warranty — short for a $219.95 kettle, and a real mark against it in this ranking.

Pros
  • Five varietal presets with satisfying, clearly labeled one-touch buttons
  • Soft Opening lid prevents hot-water splash-back when opening a hot kettle
  • Premium finishes and build feel above every other full-size kettle here
Cons
  • $219.95 is the highest full-size price here for preset-only control — no to-the-degree setting
  • Keep-warm holds only 20 minutes, less than the 30-60 minutes of cheaper rivals
  • One-year warranty is the joint-shortest among the ranked full-size kettles

Fellow Stagg EKG Pro Electric Kettle

AmRank Score 88 $180

Best for: Pour-over coffee brewers who want the reference gooseneck: to-the-degree control, scheduling, a brew stopwatch and the most controlled pour in the category.

0.9 L gooseneck · exception104-212°F · to-the-degreeSchedule + brew stopwatch1200 W2-yr warranty, 3 on registration

Product review

The Stagg EKG Pro is the gooseneck the pour-over guides are written around: to-the-degree control from 104°F to 212°F, a precision spout and counterbalanced handle, a full-color display, scheduling, altitude adjustment and hold times of 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes. Independent testing named it the best gooseneck for coffee. It is priced here in Matte Black at $179.95 from Fellow's own store; most wood-accent finishes are $199.95. It ranks fourth because, superb as it is, it is a 0.9 L specialist in a general ranking.

The company

Fellow (Fellow Industries Inc., San Francisco) publishes support through help.fellowproducts.com and [email protected] in its own product guides; no support phone is published, so that field is blank. Stagg EKG Pro carries a two-year standard warranty, extended to three years on US product registration.

Pros
  • To-the-degree PID control with the most precise, controlled pour tested
  • Scheduling, altitude adjustment, guide mode and a built-in brew stopwatch
  • Two-year warranty extending to three years on registration
Cons
  • 0.9 L is a stated exception to this ranking's 1.7 L basis — it will not serve a table of tea drinkers
  • $179.95 in Matte Black, and $199.95 in most other finishes — premium money for the smallest kettle here
  • Wi-Fi is for firmware updates only; the app does not remotely control the kettle

Bonavita 1L Digital Variable Temperature Gooseneck Kettle

AmRank Score 86 $100

Best for: Pour-over and tea brewers who want 1-degree gooseneck control and a full litre for about half the Fellow's price.

1.0 L gooseneck · exception140-212°F · 1-degree60-min heat-and-hold1200 W class1-year warranty

Product review

Bonavita's 1 L digital gooseneck is the workhorse variable-temperature kettle: set any temperature in one-degree increments from 140°F to 212°F, toggle six presets, watch the real-time display, and hold the target for up to 60 minutes. Amazon listed it at $99.99 live on October 17, 2026 in this session's checks, and independent roundups keep it as the value gooseneck recommendation. It gives up the Fellow's scheduling, display and warranty length, and keeps the core precision pour.

The company

Bonavita publishes US customer assistance in its kettle manuals at 1-855-664-1252 and [email protected], and backs its variable-temperature kettles with a one-year limited warranty. The current 1 L gooseneck is also sold as the Interurban by US coffee retailers.

Pros
  • True 1-degree control and six presets at a mid price
  • 60-minute heat-and-hold — double the OXO gooseneck's hold
  • Real-time temperature display and count-up timer on the base
Cons
  • One-year warranty is short next to the OXO and Fellow gooseneck rivals
  • Heats more slowly than the Fellow in independent testing
  • Preset temperatures cannot be reprogrammed, and the panel is plainer than rivals'

#6

Ninja Precision Temperature Electric Kettle (KT200)

AmRank Score 85 $100

Best for: Families who want presets plus manual control, a live temperature readout and a rapid single-cup boil, from a big US appliance brand at $99.99.

7-cup · 1.7 L class7 one-touch presetsManual temp control30-min hold temp1500 W · 1-year warranty

Product review

The Ninja Precision Temperature Kettle (KT200) pairs seven one-touch presets — green, white, oolong, black, herbal, coffee and boil — with manual temperature control, a live-reading illuminated display and a 30-minute hold, at $99.99 from SharkNinja's own store. Its maker-rated rapid boil claims one cup in as little as 90 seconds on 1500 watts. It ranks sixth on flexibility and price; a one-year warranty and a 7-cup rather than full 1.7 L working capacity keep it below the leaders.

Color Options
Stainless Steel

The company

Ninja kettles are sold in the US by SharkNinja, which sells the KT200 direct at $99.99 with a one-year limited warranty. SharkNinja routes support through sharkninja.com rather than a published kettle support email or phone verified this session, so both contact fields are blank.

Pros
  • Seven presets plus manual control — the broadest preset set among full-size picks
  • Live temperature display and 30-minute hold at a $99.99 maker price
  • Maker-rated 90-second single-cup boil on 1500 watts
Cons
  • One-year warranty, and replacement bases and parts are priced as add-ons ($44.99 for the base at SharkNinja)
  • US model is sold as 7-cup capacity — slightly under a true 1.7 L fill in practice
  • Preset-led interface is less precise-feeling than a true degree dial

#7

OXO Brew Gooseneck Kettle (Adjustable Temperature Pour-Over)

AmRank Score 84 $120

Best for: Pour-over brewers who prefer a simple dial to menus: 1-degree control, a built-in brew timer and OXO's two-year Brew warranty in a 1 L gooseneck.

1.0 L gooseneck · exception104-212°F · 1-degreeBuilt-in brew timer30-min hold, then auto-off2-year warranty

Product review

OXO's gooseneck takes the dial simplicity of its full-size sibling into pour-over form: twist to any temperature in one-degree increments from 104°F to 212°F, use the built-in count-up brew timer, and pour through a curved gooseneck designed for a steady, controlled flow. The handle and lid knob stay cool, and the kettle is cord-free off its 360° base. It ranks below the Bonavita on value and hold time, and above it on warranty and interface simplicity — a close, honest split.

Color Options
Stainless Steel

The company

OXO backs OXO Brew appliances sold new in the US and Canada with a two-year warranty against manufacturing defects, per its instruction manuals, with US customer service at 1-800-545-4411. OXO does not publish a support email for this line, so that field is blank.

Pros
  • Simple one-dial, 1-degree control with a built-in brew timer
  • Balanced, precise-pour gooseneck with cool-touch handle and insulated bottom
  • Two-year OXO Brew warranty — double the Bonavita's term
Cons
  • 30-minute hold is half the Bonavita's 60 minutes at the same job
  • Costs $20 more than the Bonavita gooseneck with a shorter hold and a 10-minute-max timer quirk in some manuals
  • Gooseneck pour is deliberately slow — frustrating when you just want to fill a pot fast

Cosori Electric Kettle with Temperature Control (CO117-DK)

1.7 L glass + steel6 preset temperatures60-min keep warm1500 W · STRIX thermostatWide 80° lid

Product review

The Cosori CO117-DK is the value case for preset control: six one-touch presets from 165°F delicate to 212°F boil, a borosilicate glass body with stainless lid and filter so water does not touch plastic, and a 60-minute keep-warm — longer than the Cuisinart's or Breville's — for $53.99 at Amazon in this session's October 16, 2026 price check, across a deep owner base (4.5/5 across roughly 46,800 ratings in the sources checked). It ranks eighth on preset-only control and brand depth, not on features per dollar, where it leads.

The company

Cosori is sold in the US by Arovast Corporation (VeSync), which publishes support at [email protected] and 1-888-402-1684 in Cosori manuals. Cosori manuals describe a one-year warranty extendable by a further year on timely registration — register the kettle to get the longer term.

Pros
  • Six presets and 60-minute keep-warm at the lowest preset-kettle price here
  • Glass body with stainless lid and filter — no plastic in the water path
  • STRIX thermostat with auto shut-off and boil-dry protection
Cons
  • Presets only — no 1-degree or manual temperature setting between the six fixed points
  • On the Boil preset, keep-warm holds at 200°F rather than a rolling boil, by design
  • Glass body and a thinner long-term owner record than the Cuisinart at a similar job

1.5 L stainless steelBoil only · one-touch1500 W classDrip-free mesh spout2-year warranty

Product review

Clyde is Fellow's answer to the over-featured kettle: press the LED switch and 1.5 L of water comes to a boil, through a drip-free spout with a mesh cap, held by a heat-resistant silicone handle. Independent roundups named it the best-looking electric kettle, and its owner record on Fellow's own store runs 4.5/5. It ranks ninth because this ranking rewards temperature control — Clyde deliberately has none — while remaining the best simple boiler we screened.

The company

Fellow publishes support through help.fellowproducts.com and [email protected] in its own product guides; no support phone is published, so that field is blank. Clyde carries a two-year standard warranty with an option to extend, per Fellow's own product page.

Pros
  • Dead-simple one-touch boiling with auto shut-off and boil-dry protection
  • 1.5 L capacity with a genuinely drip-free pour and comfortable full-weight handling
  • Two-year warranty and four finishes, with replacement kettles and bases sold separately
Cons
  • Boil only — no temperature control at all, so delicate teas need a thermometer or patience
  • $99.95 is premium money for a single-function kettle; basic boilers cost a third as much
  • No keep-warm and no display — you get a switch and a boil, by design

1.7 L cool-touch digitalDigital presets + display30-min keep warm1500 W1-year warranty

Product review

Hamilton Beach's 1.7 L Cool-Touch Digital Kettle (41033) is the budget digital entry: preset temperature control with a digital display, a 30-minute keep-warm, boil-dry protection and an exterior that stays cool to the touch, at $56.99 on Hamilton Beach's own store (shown out of stock there this session; JCPenney listed it at $58.49 in stock in the sources checked). It ranks tenth because the control, materials and warranty all step down from the Cosori above it — but the price steps down with them.

The company

Hamilton Beach Brands publishes US customer service at 1-800-851-8900 in its product manuals and backs this kettle with a one-year limited warranty. No support email verified from Hamilton Beach's own materials this session, so that field is blank.

Pros
  • Digital temperature presets at a true budget price
  • Cool-touch exterior is a real safety plus around children
  • Auto shut-off, boil-dry protection and 30-minute keep-warm included
Cons
  • One-year warranty, and Hamilton Beach's own store showed the model out of stock at this session's check
  • Digital preset control is less precise and less proven than the OXO dial or Cuisinart presets above it
  • Cool-touch plastic exterior feels less durable than the steel and glass bodies above it

Hamilton Beach 1.7 Liter Cool-Touch Digital Kettle (41033)

The verdict

The OXO Brew Adjustable Temperature Kettle wins because it is the only full-size kettle here that gives you true to-the-degree control — 104°F to 212°F from one dial, with a real-time display and a 30-minute hold — at $119.95, less than the preset-only Cuisinart and $100 less than the Breville Luxe. It is the right buy for most households. If you want one-touch presets and a three-year warranty instead, the Cuisinart PerfecTemp at No. 2 is the proven alternative; if you brew pour-over, step sideways to the Fellow Stagg EKG Pro or the half-price Bonavita gooseneck; and if money is the constraint, the Cosori CO117-DK's six presets at $53.99 are the honest budget answer. The field's lesson is that control, not boil speed, is the product — and that a famous name is no protection: check the recall list before you buy any kettle.

Questions, answered

Preset, dial or gooseneck — which kettle should I buy?

A dial if you brew both tea and coffee and want any temperature, not just the maker's six: the ranked OXO sets 104-212°F by the degree. Presets if you brew the same drinks daily and want one touch — Cuisinart, Breville, Ninja and Cosori all do this well. A gooseneck only if you brew pour-over: its slow, controlled pour is a liability for filling pots or making rounds of tea, and its 0.9-1.0 L capacity is the price of that control.

What temperatures do I actually need?

Green and white teas scald above roughly 175-180°F, oolong prefers about 195°F, French press and pour-over coffee want 200-205°F, and black and herbal teas want a full 212°F boil. That is why the presets on ranked kettles cluster at those points — and why a boil-only kettle forces tea drinkers to boil, wait and guess.

Are gooseneck kettles worth it for tea?

Rarely. A gooseneck's thin, slow stream exists to saturate coffee grounds evenly without agitating them. For tea in a pot or mug it just pours slowly, and the kettle holds a litre or less. Tea drinkers get more from a full-size kettle with accurate low-temperature settings — the ranked OXO dial and Cuisinart presets both reach delicate-tea temperatures without the capacity penalty.

How do I stop limescale, and does it matter?

Scale is dissolved minerals precipitating on the element and walls; it slows heating, throws off temperature accuracy and eventually flakes into drinks. Descale when a white film is visible — makers here recommend a boiled vinegar-and-water or citric-acid solution, then a thorough rinse. Glass kettles like the OXO and Cosori show scale earliest, which is an argument for them: you clean what you can see.

Is a recalled kettle in this list?

No kettle under a current recall is ranked. The Zwilling Enfinigy and Enfinigy Pro 1.5 L kettles were recalled on May 14, 2026 (CPSC, about 113,440 US units) because handles can loosen and separate and spill hot water; they appear only in the screened pool, with the recall as the cut reason. If you own one, stop using it and follow the maker's refund instructions.
